  • Every baby is a person who has language, feelings and a unique personality and therefore, deserves respect.
  • Take time to observe your baby.  Learn what she's trying to say to you and you will have a  baby who's content.
  • Convince all but a few very close relatives and friends to stay away for the first few days.
  • You've got a lot on your plate, don't heap on any additional pressures.  Prioritize!
  • Mindful parenting involves paying attention to yourself as a parent and listening to your baby.
  • A crying baby does not mean you are a bad parent.
  • Use your common sense, it can be a most useful guide.
  • Sucking on fingers is an important form of oral stimulation and self-soothing behavior for your baby.
  • Newborns have keen senses and rapidly expanding abilities that enable them to observe, to think, even to reason.
